Directions to your claim; From the I-5, take exit 776 (North Yreka) and go west. At the stop sign, turn right onto N Main St/ HWY 263. Go north for 1.6 miles and turn left onto Hawkinsville Humbug Rd. Drive up the mountain for 2.2 miles, stay left at the fork. 1 mile further you will pass an intersection (45n28) You will continue straight and start going down the mountain. 5.1 miles later you will come down into Humbug Gulch, you will turn left on Yreka Walker Rd, and drive 0.9 miles up that gulley to arrive at the claim. There is a wide spot on the left that you can park. Easiest access down to creek area is near the culvert. Note the National forest sign just up the road from parking. This would be the eastern boundary of the claim.
Siskiyou County is loaded with gold, and this is a nice 20 acre section of it that you would have exclusive mining rights to. Almost any vehicle can get to the claim. There are a few miles of dirt road but its not a bad road. There is a big wide place you could park your vehicle.
I found a lot of signs of the old timers working this area, but no modern workings were found. I believe this may be a forgotten spot with a high potential for pulling out some decent gold. The area is quiet and wooded, very seldom used and has alot of wildlife. You could use it as at hunting camp.
There are several flat areas that would make good camping spots. Very private and wooded area.
It would also make an easy to get to gettaway spot.
Lots of other recreation in all directions, including an OHV area just down the hill.
The city of Yreka is about 30 minutes away.
There is about 650 feet of the creek on the claim. This is "South Fork Forgotten Spot," now make yourself an excuse to get out there and enjoy the outdoors.

THE OWNER OF AN UNPATENTED MINING CLAIM MAY either, pay the annual $165.00 yearly maintenance fee or, perform a minimum of $100 worth of annual labor or improvements (EXAMPLE: Road improvement, clearing overgrown vegetation from access road, trash removal, etc....) on each claim by filing a Small Miners Waiver. You may file this waiver if you own 10 claims or less nationwide. (Check with the BLM for that fee amount.)
