Bill "Ninety Six" Voiselle (1919-2005) was a right-handed pitcher for 9 seasons. His nick-name came from his home town, which was Ninety-Six, South Carolina. He even wore the #96 on his jersey. Voiselle pitched for the Giants (1942-1947), Braves (1947-1949), and Cubs (1950), appearing in 245 games, with a record of 74-84, 13 shut-outs, 3 saves, and a 3.83 ERA. He had his best season in 1944, with a career bet 21-16 record, and led the league with 41 games started, 312.2 innings pitched, and 161 strike-outs, while making the All-Star team, and finishing 5th in MVP. Voiselle was 14-14 in 1945, with league leading 35 games started, and 13-13 during the Braves' pennant winning season of 1948. He appeared in 2 games of the W.S., with a 0-1 record.
