_THE BOOK OF WOODCRAFT AND INDIAN LORE _was written and illustrated by Ernest Thompson Seton. It was published by Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc. in Garden City, New York in 1929. The book measures 8" x 5 1/2" and has 590 heavily illustrated pages. There are over 500 drawings by the author. The dark blue cloth hardcovers show some wear at the corners, edges, and upper/lower spine. There is an outline of a buck on the front cover. Both covers have some whitish stains. On an inside cover page West Branch School, 1930 is written. The inside cover pages have light foxing. The pages are in very good condition, though very lightly toned on the edges. There are no tears, dog-ears, writing, or creases. However, I did not go through the book page by page. If I wasn't so old, I would take up camping again. This book covers it ALL in addition to Indian culture and lore. I particularly like the sections on Woodland Medicine, Stars, and Camp Cookery. This book has a WEALTH of knowledge! Please view all photos as they are part of the description, ask questions, and thanks for looking. Additional photos will gladly be provided upon request. This will be shipped in a box for safety Media Mail or can be picked up at zip code 28557, if you are travelling this way.
