This Extraordinary Mid Century Modern adjustable salon chair is a variation of the iconic pretzel chair Designed by Norman Cherner in 1958. It has been custom fitted with a hydraulic base with adjustable lever and foot rest. It was used in a Hair Salon in Buffalo, New York in the 1970's. It was Custom Made by the famous American Atelier company inc. in Allentown, PA. as per photo's. The American Atelier inc. company bought the famous plycraft company with all its leftover inventory in 1970 and began to manufacture the Cherner Pretzel chair. The Moulded Cherner Chair has become an icon of the Mid Twentieth Century design and can be found in galleries and design collections worldwide, including the Vitra Museum. This Salon Variation of Cherner's Pretzel chair is very Rare especially with all original parts in near mint condition with all working pump hydraulics and foot lever & rest.
