Eclipse Comics was the first publisher to issue graphic novels intended specifically for comics specialty stores. This is one of the earlier ones and is remarkable for being quite text-driven and for some fairly racy topics for the time (well earning its "For Mature Audiences" disclaimer on the cover). "A Remembrance of Threatening Green" features a story by Don McGregor and artwork by the late Marshall Rogers.
Ted Denning and Bob Rainier are Detectives Inc. Normally it would not be unusual that they find themselves in the middle of a murder investigation, but this time, Denning is the one who pulled the trigger! Rainier, meanwhile, has troubles of his own. Still reeling from a divorce, he agrees to investigate the murder of his ex-wife’s friend—a lesbian midwife who led a life as entangled as Rainier’s. As an interesting aside, the Gay League's "LBGT Comics Timeline" cites this book as "featuring the first lesbian characters in mass-market comics."
Please be clear that this is the original black-and-white publication from May 1980, not the color "micro-series" that was published in 1985. The book is in excellent condition with very little wear and/or scuffing. Of course I'd be happy to combine shipping with any of my other items (you may message me for an updated invoice or I can refund any extra shipping paid).
