It was designed for Yashica cameras that had a 52mm front filter thread -- such as the Yashica Half 17 -- but it fits on any lens that has a 52mm thread!
It is made of black plastic.
It is used and has signs of wear, but the plastic is in great shape -- firm, but flexible -- see photos.
Fits snuggly on all the 52mm front-threaded lenses I've tried.
