I am the original owner of this killer Red 1990 335. I have two of them, and since I’m using my blonde exclusively now for my jazz gigs, this has not been gigged with in 3 years and I can't justify having Old Red just lying around in its OHSC.
This is a true player's guitar, with the action set to the absolute lowest factory and Erlewine specs with absolutely ZERO FRET BUZZ. The frets are beautifully dressed and there are no cuts in the finish--just normal surface swirls and NO BUCKLE RASH. Grover Locking Tuners==ALWAYS in tune. Also have the original Grovers as well.
All pots and the toggle were replaced 3 years ago to spec w/CTS and Switchcraft and are perfect! (Very difficult and expensive job replacing the pots on these!) Original caps are intact. Includes free speed knobs and the original black hi-hat knobs. Schaller strap locks included. Has the Tone Pros tune-o-matic brass chromed bridge without the nasty spring and incredible sustain. Also have the original bridge as well if you want it.
It has all the usual 335 features which you likely know if you're reading this far. Two classic 57 humbuckers--the best sounding pickups on Earth. I would love to hear an original set of PAFs that sound like these. (Note--the guitars from 70's and 80's were not manufactured with the Classic 57s, and neither are the ones since 2013, which all have alnicos or burstbuckers.) It has the 60's slim neck which is incredibly fast and smooth and the FINGERBOARD AND NECK ARE PERFECT.
The figuring is beautiful and very unusual for most red 335s—will take as many pix of whatever you request. Everything in the same condition as if you played it for 30 years and took impeccable care of it. Case is very clean and is the classic original brown tolex with the pink faux fur lining--very cool.
