California Prop 65 Warning You bet your ass that California has some kind of issue with this thing. God knows they get pissed off enough about everything else, I can't imagine how model railroad locomotives that spew vape that smells of coal, coffee or bananas aren't a threat to every resident of the golden state. And I'm from Massachusetts and we're not known for sympathizing with polluters much, but geez...

The Cape Cod Model Railroad Club and Museum is pleased to offer a Lionel engine, presumably a PA without a road name or number from the Bobby Nickerson collection.
WE ARE UNSURE OF THE CORRECT PRODUCT NUMBER FOR THIS LOCOMOTIVE. WE THINK IT IS CIRCA 1958 AND MAY FALL UNDER LIONEL 209. PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON THIS SPOT FOR UPDATES AS WHEN MORE KNOWLEDGABLE LIONEL EXPERTS WEIGH IN, I TRY TO POST THEIR INSIGHT BELOW...
Check out the video of her running on the test track at https://youtu.be/8Hsdtyqc3mw

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN NEW HAVEN AND/OR BOSTON & MAINE O GAUGE, I SUGGEST YOU CHECK OUT SOME OF OUR OTHER AUCTIONS AS A NUMBER OF ENGINES, ROLLING STOCK AND CABOOSES FROM THESE ROADS ARE GOING UP FOR AUCTION AT THE BEGINNING OF APRIL 2021. THANK YOU FOR LOOKING AT OUR AUCTION AND PLEASE COME AND VISIT US THE NEXT TIME YOU COME TO CAPE COD!
Bobby was an eclectic guy, a Vietnam Vet who pretty much stayed on the Cape his whole life other than to chase trains. Although our club is primarily an HO and N Scale organization, Bobby was an original member from 1968, and his generous bequest will give new life to our 503(c)7 organization, especially the Cape Cod Chapter of Youth in Model Railroading. We have decided to auction over 110 locomotives in order to offer true G scale model railroaders the opportunity to purchase lightly used equipment at considerably less than what is being asked at a 'buy-it-now' price.
Bobby focused on collecting mostly NorthEastern O Gauge, especially New Haven and Boston & Maine and enjoyed collecting Lionel of all era's as well as MTH, Williams, K-Line & Atlas. American Flyer as well as other O and S Gauge manufacturers. The trains on offer for this auction were a part of his collection and have not been regularly run for two years due to Bobby's declining health and the pandemic. Bobby did take good care of his trains, although the salt-air Cape Cod climate and the humidity will weatherize anything if you leave it untouched for long!
All locomotives have been tested with a Lionel transformer to confirm that they move, but more than that we cannot guarantee. Links to YouTube videos of this locomotive in action are provided above. If you need further details, please reach out and we will answer questions as quickly as possible. As we are not dealers or experts in O Gauge repair, we will offer a thirty-day return policy on all auctions with the following caveat attached: the cost of return shipping will be borne by the buyer and a $10 restocking fee will be deducted from the returned amount. Please reach out and contact us regarding any questions about any auction, we would prefer to do extra testing, photography or research before you commit to winning the auction.
The Cape Cod Model Railroad Club and Museum offers free visits to kids and families on weekends throughout the summer in West Barnstable. We promote our hobby to youngsters _(and adults who are young at heart) _who might not otherwise have the means or ability to join our hobby. As a tax exempt organization, we work to remove and repurpose layouts of former owners into the basements of young kids keeping our hobby thriving. We encourage kids of all ages to come learn about model railroading and take the throttle and run trains with us. As one of the few free attractions for families in this large tourist playground, we rely on the generosity of friends and supporters to help us maintain our 110 year old New Haven Baggage Car #3802 and our D&H Caboose and cover the cost of taking our modules to train shows around New England. We are grateful for your support, please visit us in person in West Barnstable, MA where the tracks cross Route 149, online at www.capecodmodelrailroad.club or on Facebook at
