This is an auction for the book “Words and Music by Randy Newman” a song book collecting 21 songs written by Newman. Interestingly, the collection showcases Newman’s songwriting by including songs he has never recorded himself, instead recorded by other artists. In fact, there is a listing of all the singers (to that point) that recorded the songs - a list that runs from Three Dog Night to Ella Fitzgerald to Leonard Nimoy!
The collection is used - a former owner must have especially liked “Bet No One Ever Hurt This Bad” because the pages there are pressed. The same occurs with the cover page. There is also a former owner’s name atop the contents page. See the photos for examples of these.
