OBVERSE: (In Sharada script) Sri MaDu / MaTi (An early _Sanskrit-ization_ of the Arabic name Muhammad)
REVERSE: (In Kufic script) Lillah Muhammad (_transl._ : for Allah (struck by) Muhammad ) below the three large pellets / dots motif which is surrounded by Shri (top), Ta (left) Pa(right)
REFERENCE(S): Goron and Goenka: AM3 (listed as R (rare)), Fishman and Todd: M76 Type E17 Type(b) (listed as R (rare)). This type is characterized by the unligated first and second letters in the Sharada inscription.
This series of bilingual coinage of the Samid Amirs of Multan is unique because a number of local titles adopted by the Muslim Amirs are taken from local religious texts and inscribed in the local script.
