The Title: Red, Beautiful Red!
The Story: While I was at the beach, I didn't do a lot of art - I was too busy doing everything else! - but I did take out my watercolors and play a bit. I'm fascinated by the paints I bought from Daniel Smith (the brand name) as well as the ones I made myself. I keep getting them on my brush and pushing them across the paper just to see what they do. I love the colors and the textures and everything else about them. For this piece, I wanted to see how the various reds would interact with each other if I glazed them overtop of each other. I'm already imagining wallpaper and fabric and other possibilities with this pattern. I've tried it with some other colors which I'll post another day.
This is an original, unframed pastel painting made and sold by Susan Singer.
It is pastel on sanded paper and app. 9" x 6".
Included with the painting will be a Certificate of Authenticity and tips on how to frame pastels. Please don't touch the surface of the painting as the pigment will come off on your fingers! Pastels need to be framed to keep them safe. Once framed, they are among the most permanent mediums known to man.
About Susan Singer:
_In 2020, I began a daily practice of creating a small pastel painting each day. I love the discipline of getting into the studio each day to create something beautiful then posting it online to give friends and strangers a chance to bring it into their own homes._
