Set of Peacock Elephant Bookends designed by Margaret Postgate, 1930, for Cowan Pottery
Each marked with two Cowan marks. One of the most desired, hard to find set of Cowan bookends.
More commonly found is the smaller version paperweight.
7.5" tall bookends. Shown in Plate 351 of the Mark Bassett Guide to Cowan Pottery
I have owned these two for a couple of years, purchased for one of the most renown experts in Cowan Pottery.
They are in fabulous condition. Any white marks are just glare from my window. Photographed in natural light. I'm attaching a photo of the steps because there are small white dots on each elephants steps, perhaps a glaze imperfection.
If you have questions, please ask now. Examine the photos.
Elephants will be packed super securely. Boxed twice. Insured.
