I recently (as of when this listing was first created) broke several sets, this and the other lots that I have listed are from the sets that I broke. I generally only grade the cards that I want for my personal collection.
At a point, during the summer of 2019, I changed the focus of my collection away from Rookie Cards to cards of players who hit 20 or more home runs in a given season. This change resulted in the majority of the graded cards that I currently have listed, which were formerly part of my collection. The other graded cards are my duplicates or cards that I have a better example of.
This is my hobby. I really don't want to grade and submit cards I don't want for my collection. I have had good results in finding PSA 10 examples of most of the cards that I want when I break at least five factory sets at a time. The results vary, pre 1992 Topps cards and series with dark borders are more difficult to find in PSA 10 condition.
I will explain my methodology so you can evaluate each lot. I only review cards that meet my collection criteria (did they hit 20 home runs that year, 5 for pitchers, Mike Greenwell or was the player from Armstrong County, Pennsylvania). I also pull a Pittsburgh Pirates team set for my brother-in-law, but only if I have not given him one from that set previously. If no, then I have not reviewed the cards for condition. If Yes, did I already have a well centered PSA 10 example of that card. If Yes, I did not review the condition of the cards. If No, then I reviewed the cards to see if I felt that there were any examples that are better than what I already have.
Generally, I only submit one example of post 1985 cards at a time. If that card comes back as a PSA 10 and is well centered and if I had retained any other examples pending the result of the first submission those card(s) are then added to the appropriate eBay listing if it has not sold, otherwise they will be listed separately.
If I don’t receive a PSA 10 back from PSA and if I retained other examples that I felt were good enough to submit, I will submit another example. If I don’t have any other examples to submit:
I will either buy more sets to break or order raw examples from dealers if there are only a handful of cards that I still require in PSA 10.
The cards in the photo are the cards that you will receive, the only exception is if there happens to be partial cards in the peripheral of the photo, those are not included.
The number of cards in the photo, does not always indicate if I reviewed the cards for condition. I am human and I do not have a hard list of what cards to pull to list when I’m breaking sets/boxes/cases. When I’m done breaking the material, I collate the cards by teams and then by player. If I missed pulling a card, I generally do not go back through them to find the ones that I missed. Some times there is an anomaly in factory sets where some cards are missing and an equal number of duplicates are present. If when I open a set, I see that there is a common defect to all the cards in the set I will add all those cards to the common boxes. If the source of the break is a box or case the total number of cards will not be uniform. Lastly, if I notice catastrophic damage to a card, I usually will add it to one of the boxes of commons.
The cards in this lot have been stored in a single Card Saver I since they were photographed and will be shipped in that Card Saver I.
I do combine orders. For the best rate please don't pay until I send you an invoice that reflects a discounted s/h. To do this add each card that you are interested in to your shopping cart. Once done, select the “Request a Total” button in the upper right of your shopping cart. NOTE this button may not appear on your phone, if not then use a computer to complete this step. Once you select the button eBay will reserve the cards for you. NOTE I work a traditional job and I cannot and will not conduct personal business on company time. So, there may be a delay until I can adjust the s/h. When I do so, eBay will send you a second invoice that reflects a significantly discounted s/h. If you pay before I adjust the s/h, I cannot provide as significant discount to the s/h. This is due to the fact that eBay does not refund its fees on refunds for s/h
