VINTAGE ITALIAN MURANO ART GLASS MACCHIA BOWL, POSSIBLY BY CENEDESE
Please read the descriptions carefully, and reference all images for inspection and description verification. Our knowledge on art glass is increasing, though is limited. We are dependent upon found documentation and images, as well as information (often from what collector’s share) on the Internet. We will do our best to answer questions, and provide additional photographs.
This lovely art glass bowl is from my late parent’s private collection that was bequeathed to me a few years ago. They were passionate collectors for over 50 years, and collected art glass of various artists from around the world. We are selling due to downsizing. Our wish is to find new homes where my family's treasured objects will be given a new life and bring enjoyment to others.
We learned sometime ago from a professional that this is a Murano ‘macchia’ art glass bowl, and likely created by Cenedese. Macchia translation is stain in English. We are uncertain as to its exact era, but based on the rest of the collection our best guess would be mid-century.
The bowl is a pleasing translucent cobalt blue. It is internally decorated with a claret color abstract cosmological shape that spreads outward from its center at the base of the bowl. Underneath the bowl is a label that reads Genuine Venetian Glass, Made in Murano, Italy.
Please note: I have a color vision deficiency condition, so please reference the pictures for personal determination. I do my best (with husband’s input) to identify and capture the color as close as possible in the images. Though, please keep in mind that display monitors can vary greatly.
Thus far, no original box or documentation was found for this decorative bowl. If anything is found, we will respectfully pass it forward at our expense.

All items are in the condition in which they were found. Please keep in mind that handmade artwork may have flaws that occurred during its creation. Also, vintage items are normally used, and may show signs of wear that is consistent with its age and use. We will do our best to thoroughly inspect and relay our findings. Please inquire if there is anything we may have overlooked.
This item appears to be in good vintage condition. It does have a few scratches and flea bites that could be polished by a professional if desired. We also felt a flat spot. It wasn't something we visually noticed, and honestly do not know how to determine if it was done during its formation or was once repaired. We did our best to capture the more noticeable flaws, and have pointed them out in the photographs. Regardless of imperfections, it remains to be a very attractive bowl.
All art glass in our family collection was used for display purposes only. We feel pictures often speak louder than words. Please review the photographs for personal determination of condition before bidding. Thank you.

SHIPMENT AND PACKAGING:
This art glass collectible will be given the utmost care in packing. I was very fortunate to receive detailed instruction on packing fragile items from my parents, which I have in turn passed on to my husband. Both of our feedback can attest to the care we give in packing all items to help ensure they are delivered undamaged.
The bowl will be shipped USPS Priority Mail within the USA only. At times we utilize pickup options, which may delay shipment by one day. As a courtesy we provide insurance in the event of loss or damage to your item(s) during shipping.
Please contact us immediately should an item arrive damaged, and save everything for incident reporting and claim filing.
AN IMPORTANT TIP PASSED ON TO ME: In extreme cold or hot weather conditions, please allow the package to reach room temperature before opening to avoid possible stress damage.
