EXCEPTIONAL ANTIQUE & VERY RARE - ART DECO - this mint condition compote / comport is magnificent! By Bakewell, Pears & Company circa 1870 - making this candy dish or comport about 149 years old - truly one of my favorite pieces - glass bowl on top is curved with a scalloped rim and a square Waffle pattern.....stem and foot are white satin or frosted glass. The 2 vintage pieces were attached using a glass wafer which was not perfectly placed and is a tiny bit off center & you can see some dark spots in the glass where it was attached but can't see when on display (see photos). Otherwise excellent condition with no chips, cracks or fogginess. This glass company closed in 1882 - EAPG Early American Pressed Glass made in the USA - measures 7 3/4" tall X 8 1/4" wide across top X 4 3/4" across foot. Very heavy antique piece. Valued at over $150.00!
